Rick Webb is the owner, along with his wife Susan, of Louisiana Growers, a wholesale nursery in Amite, Louisiana. The nursery specializes in trees, shrubs, grasses and wildflowers native to the Gulf Coast and was established in 1988. In addition to residential gardens and arboretum plant sales across the south, native plant material from Louisiana Growers has been used in significant public and commercial projects including Community Adaptation Program stormwater management improvements (Gentilly), Central Louisiana Technical Community College (Alexandria), urban tree reforestation by S.O.U.L. (New Orleans), Bankline Stabilization Workshops (Bayou Vermilion District), University of Louisiana Lafayette pocket prairie at Hamilton Hall, Baton Rouge Green's beautification project at Acadian Thruway (Mid-City Baton Rouge), the City Park Sculpture Garden expansion (New Orleans), and many others.
Rick is former president of the Southeast Louisiana Nursery Association, the Louisiana Nursery and Landscape Association, the Louisiana Native Plant Society and the Amite Chamber of Commerce. He served as Treasurer of the Louisiana Nursery & Landscape Foundation for Scholarship and Research.
Rick was honored to be recognized as the recipient of the 2020 James A. Foret award from the Louisiana Nursery and Landscape Association and the 2022 Karlene DeFatta Award of Excellence from the Louisiana Native Plant Society.
