Deciduous native tree grows with a rounded form 20-30’ tall; locate in partial shade in evenly moist, well-drained soil. Showy clusters of bell-shaped white flowers in spring, followed by flattened two-winged fruits that ripen in fall; leaves turn yellow in fall. Makes a nice addition to the shaded shrub border with its spring flower display and creates an excellent understory tree beneath large natives.
