A smaller rush that thrives in full sun and can and can be planted along pathways or as an effective groundcover in wetland restoration. A good choice for raingardens, they tolerate drought, flooding, moderate salinity, compacted soils and foot traffic. Plants are 6” – 24” with mostly grass-like leaves and small greenish or brownish flowers in dense spikes or heads or sometimes in loose clusters or even solitary.
