An evergreen large shrub or small tree with gray-green aromatic foliage and clusters of blue-gray fruits on female plants. Waxmyrtle has a dense spreading crown and a multiple trunk that can be pruned for sculptural effects. It prefers moist, acid soils but is adaptable to other conditions, including wet sites with poor drainage. Likes sun /partial sun. Grows to 20’ tall, 10-15’ wide. 'Wolf Bay' is a female selected by Tom Dodd III; it grows to 20 feet tall, and is more upright and thicker than the species.
