The coarsely divided fronds make this fern very easy to identify. Up to 4' tall. Part sun to light shade, wet to moist conditions, sandy or loamy soil containing decaying organic matter. Sensitive fern gets its name from the tendency of the fronds to wither at the first slight frost.
