Native perennial grows 2’-3' tall. Mass in sunny borders, wild gardens, native plant gardens or naturalized areas. Small, white, trumpet-shaped flowers with red stamens top garnet-red foliage. Fertile, well-drained loams, clay loams, and sand. Acid preferably but tolerates lime. Will tolerate dry shade. Blooms mid-spring to early summer.
