Herbaceous perennial grows in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun. Tolerates hot, humid summers and drought. The stem and leaves have rough hairs. Blooms with a parasol-like yellow flowerhead which surrounds and droops downward from a large, brownish-purple center cone. 3’ – 5’ tall. Honey bees/bugs/butterflies/beetles feed on the nectar and pollen.
