A low-maintenance, low-growing (12-18” tall) groundcovering perennial with attractive blue flowers in early summer. Moist, rich, well-drained soil, acidic sands preferred, in sun to part shade. Colonizes vigorously, so lift and divide every 3 or 4 yrs to keep thinned. Attracts butterflies. 'Purdy's Purple' is a selection by SFA Gardens in Nacogdoches, TX.
